Quantum Aviation Solutions, a prominent figure in the aviation sector since 2005, has earned a strong reputation for delivering a comprehensive suite of IT solutions, encompassing globally utilized Software as a Service (SaaS) products. Quantum recently approached us with the task of revamping the user interface of their fleet tracking solution, recognizing the necessity for an enhanced user experience. Our objective was to bring the system up to modern standards, making it simpler for new users while maintaining familiarity for current users.

The Challenge

Quantum’s fleet tracking solution boasted an impressive range of features and capabilities. Nevertheless, the variety of reports, features, and customization choices introduced complexity. Our challenge was to revamp the user interface with a modern design that would enhance the experience for new users while maintaining a sense of familiarity for long-time users. This transformation was to be exclusively executed on the front end, without adding additional complexities or the need for back-end adjustments.

The Insights

We had the opportunity to engage with numerous system users and experts, both within and outside the Quantum organization. This interaction provided us with valuable insights and guided us in making informed decisions about what changes to implement and how to proceed.

  1. Mobile-Driven Design: Recognizing the clear preference of Quantum’s customers, we ensured that our design was carefully tailored for seamless performance on both mobile phones and tablets.
  2. Feature Mapping: Questions raised by users regarding feature locations, meanings, and complications finding the right report matching their needs.

The Solution

We maintained a close collaboration with Quantum throughout the entire process, ensuring alignment at each stage.

  • Clear Organization: To help users comprehend each feature’s functionality, we divided features and reports into separate sections and included brief explanations to the system.
  • Mobile Optimization: We prioritized mobile-friendly design, guaranteeing that all aspects of the system were easily accessible on mobile devices.
  • Iterative Testing and Enhancement: By incorporating feedback from both internal and external stakeholders, we conducted usability tests on new concepts, progressively refining the system for an improved user experience.

The Conclusion

Following a dedicated collaboration with Quantum, we have effectively met our project goals, and we take great pride in our collective achievements. Notably, our redesign led to a significant 30% decrease in dead click rates. Quantum’s ongoing expansion of its SaaS product portfolio, developed with our assistance, promises further innovations and enhancements.
